ANU Kabuki campus performances

Dear Kabukians and their friends,
Big big thanks for those members of who participated in our short performance at Harmony Day(1st May), Toads Hall Multicultural Festival (8th May)and B&G multicultural Ball(14th May)during last two weeks. It means a lot to us. Hope you had fun!

At the Harmony Day performance, there were more than 200 people attended the event in the Union Court! Although we were the first one to perform on that day and most of our members were first time taking part in Kabuki stage performance, the effort everyone of us putted in worked out to make the audiences laugh. It was difficult to reach out voice so loud in the outside area without microphone help besides, it was very windy day and people were busy eating and chatting.
However I believe people there loved our sweet appearances and manly voices of our kabuki girls. In 10mins we squeezed the essences of Kabuki into it, Love, Hate, Suicidal,Humour,Pleasuer quarter scene,Fighting scene and so on.
We managed to sell a lot of raffle tickets as well as drinks. Our beautiful Kabuki girls and actors went around Union Court to advertise ANU Kabuki and get support from the audiences.

Toads Hall Multicultural Festival was our next step for Kabuki campus invasion.
The audience was great and very cheerful and the atmosphere was just so friendly!
ANU ZA Kabuki loved Toads Hall audiences!!Thanks for the support!
Throughout the performance the laughter and cheer did not stop and the audiences participated in our performance. The interaction between actors, actress and the audience was very nice.

On Friday 14th May, we made our appearance at B&G Multicultural Ball in the Union Building on Campus.Although the most of the members who participated in the short performance was new and it was first time for them to perform Kabuki, they did so well. It was a great opportunity to perform in such a special occasion.

Our next line up is the short kabuki performance at Bruce Hall "Arts Extravaganza!" this Wednesday 19th May from 8pm.

Also we'll be having school visit to Farrer Primary School this Friday 21st. It will involve a short ANU Kabuki introduction, kabuki short performance for 10mins and stage make-up and costume experience for the studnets. It will be a great opportunity for us to promote cultural exchange and interaction. Hope it will be a successful one.
